"La Cruz", as it's known to the locals, is a quaint little fishing town. The name of the town comes from a cross (‘cruz’ in Spanish) made of Huanacaxtle wood. The town is located approximately 25 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta.
La Cruz de Huanacaxtle is home to the new 400 berth Marina Riviera. Just steps away there is a fish market selling "the catch of the day" to residents, tourists and restaurateurs. La Cruz is lined with some of the best restaurants and authentic taco stands, such as the well known "Tacos on the street". For a real treat drop in the chicken rotisserie stand on the corner best chicken and papa's in Puerto Vallarta.
You can walk along the beach leisurely for miles enjoying the sunrise or sunset. A local family, the Blancas, are from among the original settlers and still live in La Cruz to this day. Life is good!.
