Zanzibar the spice island in the Indian ocean, the mystery of southern most Califat and the flavors of this port known since Roman times for its spice markets where refined far east culture meets African boldness with oriental savory . THE ENTRANCE. A beautiful palapa with a 30 feet long wooden bar serving all kinds of local and international liquor, specially the tequila selection and European clear distills are available. Walking in the main area covered with an old wooden pergola with shade provided by a special glass which keeps out the rain, if there is any.
Here you can see the wood burning oven and grill which is used to give a special flavor to an array of dishes. By the corner is a temperature controlled wine cellar of 1200 bottles. Besides food, wine is one of Chef Bernhard‘s passions and they are selected with great care. The most important dining sections are: The wooden deck, built 5 feet high with a truly beautiful view of the shoreline from Bucerias all the way to the far lights of Mismaloya. And last but not least the white sanded beach for smaller settings. With the backdrop of the beautiful villas nestled on the hills of Real del Mar, the ocean breaking at the far cliff and the flavors of your fresh prepared meal matched by a selected bottle of wine. Not even at the Amalfi coast life could be better!
Two years after experiencing NYC, Chef Bernhard Güth arrived in 1994 in Puerto Vallarta. He fell in love with the lifestyle of charming Puerto Vallarta and in 1997 opened Trio Restaurant at 264 Guerrero Street, Downtown; in 2004 followed Vitea oceanfront bistro.
