For over five years we’ve been searching for a condo development that suited our semi-retired lifestyle. The resort lifestyle at the Alamar became an excellent fit for our situation.
Mexico is known for its outstanding weather, friendly people and easy paced lifestyle. However, the Alamar encapsulates all the other aspects that we desire in an investment/retirement property, such as: the safety of 24hr security; quiet surroundings; state-of-the-art medical facilities; close proximity to shopping malls, beaches and marinas; as well as the incredible view of Banderas Bay and Sierra Madre Mountains. On Sundays, we particularly enjoy strolling through the open market in central La Cruz for locally grown and prepared foods.
We look forward to every opportunity to visit our new home away from home, where we can leave the winter slush and snow behind; and embrace this surprisingly affordable paradise Mexico has to offer.

We bought our condo in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Mexico when it was just a mound of dirt, and have been enjoying our holidays there for the past two years. We love the weather, the people, and the relaxed lifestyle, and can’t wait until we retire so we can spend our cold winter months in Mexico.

We had been looking for years at buying property on Banderas Bay. We just never found the "right spot" until two years ago when we purchased our condo (pre-construction) at Alamar. The development was just what we hoped for; gorgeous Beach Club, pool in our backyard, fabulous views, small Village living, affordable, and of course having great neighbors!

We were so captivated by Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit and the Bay of Banderas we started researching the local area. One or our main concerns was healthcare. We found state-of-the-art medical facilities in Puerto Vallarta along with board certified bi-lingual physicians. We have visited both of the two larger hospitals with excellent results. We have a fantastic local family doctor in Buceras. The other concern was leaving our family and friends behind. Technology is a wonderful thing and Skype keeps everyone connected. Our son has spent more time here visiting us and enjoying all that Mexico has to offer, as opposed to the few hours a month we would spend together in Canada. In searching for our new home we looked at several condos and villas in the PV and Nuevo area and stumbled across the La Joya condominiums in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.

The sales agent showed us one of their condos but it was not quite what we were looking for but we really like the north shore of the bay. He explained who the developer was and that there were several other developments constructed by Grupo Real Del Mar that he wanted us to see. Impressed doesn't even describe how we were feeling about this company. The detailed planning and the overall quality of workmanship was fantastic, the landscaping and amenities that would follow extraordinary. We only seen pictures and models of the Alamar, but we picked out the exact condo we wanted to buy. Arriving only with 3 suitcases and two computers our new journey in life began. We have never looked back. We live at the Alamar full-time and we enjoy both the summer and winter months. Rainy season is one of favourite times of the year, we love to watch the tropical storms approaching. We spend many hours in our backyard with its infinity pool, gorgeous views, and relaxing with great friends we have met here at the Alamar. The private beach club is exquisite no wonder we always feel like we are on vacation. Are we happy here? Ecstatic! We started our search for an investment/retirement property in winter of 2007. After travels to Arizona, Florida, Caribbean, Bahamas, Riviera Maya & Manzanillo, we ended up at an all inclusive on Riviera Nayarit while visiting family who owned a condo in Rincon de Guayabitos. After viewing their property and vacationing on Banderas Bay, we returned to Banderas Bay 3 weeks later as we knew we had found the area that we wanted to settle in. The consistent temperature between summer and winter seasons, the amenities, culture, friendly people and relaxed atmosphere appealed to us more than any where else we had traveled. What attracted me to Mexico was the lower cost of living and the wonderful climate. The resort lifestyle Alamar offers, and the safety of 24hr security makes condo living very comfortable. My condo is everything I was looking for and I especially love the views off my terrace of Banderas Bay, Sierra Madre Mountain Range and night lights of Puerto Vallarta. Since moving here I spend more time outdoors walking the property and beaches in the area. The town of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle is a short walk from Alamar and it’s where I shop for various fresh fruits and vegetables from the local stores. I visit the open market in central La Cruz that is run every Sunday for locally grown and prepared foods.
